Is It Virgin Hair or Not?

Hey Dolls ❤️,

I know it’s been a long minute and I apologize ... I’m sure as you know life can get in the way, but I’m back and here to stay. So on that note ... let’s talk about hair. Why? Well, why not? Hair (for me at least) is super important! (I mean I’m a different person when my hair is not done versus when my hair is laid to the gawds hunny).

In a world full of bad weave sellers,  getting quality  weave and choosing  hair extensions has become  so difficult (especially if you don’t want to spend a month’s rent on bundles). I mean AliExpress, Amazon and EBay are notorious for having Chinese hair sellers who have fake positive reviews or who pay for people to change their reviews to positive ones. This just leaves buyers like you and me spending hundreds on hair that is either heavily processed or partially synthetic.

So how can you tell which buyers to purchase from? I suggest doing some real background checking on the store you are buying from. If they have an Instagram page and customers are leaving positive (or negative) comments, reply to them with more questions ... generally people will love to tell you a good or bad experience especially if they already wrote a comment about it.

Another great way to decipher the bad sellers from the real sellers is to ask them what grade hair they are selling ... if they say 7a, 8a,9a ... these numbers mean the hair is not truly Virgin. Simply put these are “grades” or indicators of the quality of hair ... any unprocessed hair will not have a grade - not saying it is not quality hair, but it is not Virgin hair.

Where Can You Buy Quality Virgin Hair?

  • Kendra’s Boutique - While they are expensive, their hair really is worth the price and allows more than one use with proper care.
  • Foreign Virgin Hair - www.ForeignVirginHair.com They have the best quality closures and frontals on the market... and great quality hair.
  • AR Virgin Hair- AR Virgin Hair never disappoints with the quality- hair takes color well.
Hope this helps you make some good choices on hair! Know some other great brands? Put them in the comments 💕

XOXO 😘,

Microblading ... Is it worth it?

Microblading (also known as eyebrow embroidery or 3D Eyebrows) is semi-permanent makeup procedure that provides a means to fill in missing eyebrow hair or sparse areas with the appearance of simulated hair using fine deposits of cosmetic tattoo pigments.

Microbladed Eyebrows
Microblading is a 2-session process ... which means you will have to go back after your initial session for a touch-up. This is due to way the skin heals and how the pigment ink (which is thicker than tattoo ink) may heal lighter in some areas than others.   After your touch-up session, your brows should heal and leave you with a thicker and fuller eyebrow shape.

So with all that being said and done ... Is it worth it?

Yes, Absolutely...  If you spend time daily drawing in or fill in your brows with makeup, this is the perfect alternative.  Microblading will not only save you time, but also money in the long run - and lets be honest-who doesn't want to wake up with perfect brows?

So what are you waiting for?

XOXO,

The Wrath of Synthetic Hair

The Wrath of Synthetic Hair

Once upon a time my virgin hair was long curly and healthy. It was processed with perms and my mother even tried a leisure curl. Now my healthy long hair lost track of how it was suppose to look and my curls became so confused that they went in several directions. I went off to college ad wore a ponytail each day, I attempted another style and experienced hair loss. I wore a wig for about a year and my hair grew back down my back. I then wanted to look normal so I turned to weaves. Surprisingly my hair did not grow as much as it did with the wigs so I lost a few inches. So now I am on a hair journey to have healthy hair, and I have to admit I am not the girl to wear totally natural hair. No excuses no explanations it is just not for me.

So fast forward to August 2016, I just came out of a weave and wanted a protective style, so I obtained the number of a new stylist and off I went to try these lead in braids. The lead in braids were cute, a definite winner until they got wet. When the hair was wet the chemicals from the hair had an adverse reaction with my skin and before I new it I had hives on 60% of my body. Boy did that itch and my Labor Day weekend turned into a trip to the emergency room and antihistamine trials. I was given a prednisone and benadryl. I had to stop taking the benadryl because it caused more hives. So I took a Zyrtec, Claritan, and another antihistamine. I went to sleep after a long warm shower and slept comfortably.

I also had to wash my hair several times to rid it of the chemical that attached to my hair follicles. I washed it in Neutrogena T Gel and Apple Cider Vinegar. My hair nourished to be relieved from the chemical that attacked it. It is day four and I finally am getting some relief with minimal breakouts. Synthetic hair is a great way for you to protect your hair during your hair journey, but due to my experience with it I never want to see synthetic hair again. Hope all is well in your beautiful world dolls,

Love and Happiness

The Business Suit

The Business Suit

My first job interview I wore a business suit, my task was to impress them not only with my fantastic answers but also with what I was wearing. Over time women's business wear has evolved. Years ago in the business world women wore sleeves on their dresses and it was mandatory to wear pantyhose. As time moved on the style and trends of how women dressed in the business world changed. Women started to wear tight skirts with loose blouses, pants with just a button up shirt, and even blouses that showed lots of cleavage.

With all of the changes our wages are still paid 79 percent of what men are paid. In 1950 about one in three women participated in the labor force compared with 59.8 percent in 1998. So there are more women in the labor force, yet we are not seen as equal to our male counterparts. I recently had a job interview, it is a dream job (without the seven figure pay). My sister who is a top manager in the corporate world, told me I should wear a dark grey, dark blue, or black suit. I didn't have either of those in my wardrobe. This insight I thought was full of malarkey, however I went and purchased a Calvin Klein dark blue suit from my local department store. She told me not to wear my contact lenses, and instead wear my glasses. I'm not sure if it was my attire or just my intellect and grand answers but I received an invitation to a second interview.

So for my second interview I wore a dark grey suit and yes I wore my glasses again. I felt great and confident, I suppose that is what one should feel. As I looked at what other applicants wore I know why the business suit was the only thing one should wear to a job interview. Sweaters, printed dresses, and colored suit pants such as red and coral are distracting. Now there has been some job interviews in the past where I was under dressed, but the pay scale was less than desirable. Many of us think we will impress with just our resume and a great college transcript. There are a lot of people who have drive and termination that attempt to launch one's career the corporate world unprepared. How can you stand out? Managers are judging you by how you look, because they may have to work with you.

As women we are paid less than expected to perform at a similar or higher capacity than our male counterparts. We run companies, households, and in some cases kingdoms. Some may think that becoming equals with men in the business world is so far out of reach. It may be, however we damn sure better try. Something else that I recall from shopping for business attire. There are not too many selections, it is like they expect us to look like housewives in square dresses. If I were much older and wanted to have on my Sunday's best the selection would have been up to par. Thank goodness for Calvin Klein still believing in the everyday business woman.

Ladies we have the freedom to dress how we want, however the business suit continues to demand the respect and honor we deserve. If you don't have a suit in your closet, there is no time like the presence.

Oh no! That's Not Ladylike

Hey Dolls!

Today, I want to discuss a VERY important issue and that is the way we talk to our men (whether boyfriend, fiancé or husband).  Now contrary to popular belief, this is not a race or ethnic issue, this is a societal issue and it is growing.   As women become more independent (and are increasingly becoming the breadwinners in the homes), it is important to show our nurturing and loving sides to our mates.

Disrespect only warrants more disrespect so with that being said, be polite to your lover and end what can start to become a problem in your relationship.  As a married woman, I have caught myself so many times being sarcastic or short-tempered with my husband because of a bad day or me just being in one of my moods.  But I have to think of how I would feel if he behaved the same way ( I definitely wouldn't like that).

So what can we do about it? Everything:

Never Speak out of Fresh Anger - When situations arise, do not go with your initial reaction ... just breathe... Usually after I calm down, I realize what I may have said or done was not the way I should have handled the situation.  It is so much easier to just breathe, then it is to have to apologize.

Be His Lover, Not His Mother- Men have a different perspective.  Some of the things we might find important, may not be so important to him. But don't scold him on it, learn to appreciate the differences.

Remain Positive - Women tend to be worriers. It is not our fault, it is just in our nature to be nurturing and to take care of others.  With worry comes anxiety, and well, we know how anxiety can make us feel.  It is best to think of the positive things and leave anxiety behind.

Hopefully, this helps give you some perspective :).

Until next time dolls,

xoxo Paper Doll

No Shade For Beyonce's "Lemonade."

NO SHADE FOR BEYONCE'S "LEMONADE."

There has been so much discourse about Beyonce's visual album "Lemonade." As an American who has been only really exposed to American culture I can see how one can take her lyrics and think Illuminati or demonic symbolism. As I did a little research I found that all of the poems she recited was the work of Warsan Shire. Warsan Shire is a Somalian poet who now resides in London. She has lived in two places I have not, and observed a world much different than the one I have seen. I am not saying I agree with the words of the poem, but I am sure that there is another meaning than what we are assuming. I think it's an educational moment, just like Rick James was not talking about a woman named "Mary Jane," the poem is probably not talking about what we think. Yes we have to be careful in what words we sing, however we must also know what we are singing. Also I am glad that Beyonce is not literally talking about "hot sauce," in her bag. Maybe some of the cultural misappropriations will be lessened. Then again maybe people will just start carrying a bat.

How to Handle Being Late

How to Handle Being Late

It’s 5:45 pm and your sisters Bridal Shower starts at 6:00 pm. You are 30 minutes away and you still need to set-up the party favors. Obviously you are going to be late and guests are going to arrive to an incomplete room. You are probably going to speed, and have rushed thoughts, as anxiety floods through every part of your body. Well don’t! Don’t speed; don’t rush, in fact pace yourself. You are already late, and if you are calm and collected your task will be a lot easier to handle. While you are on the road think of alternate ways to present and distribute those party favors. Plan A has been nixed.
We all have arrived a little late for a party, meeting, concert, sporting events, work, or even a wedding. Some of us have excuses, and some of us have poor habits that lead us to being late all of the time. Being late provides a picture of the person you are. Even if the painting is distorted, it can affect your life, as well as cause you to miss out on some special moments. This blog is not advocating being late, but rather provides some tools on how to handle being late.
Being late can be a time management problem, or some internal problem that makes you less aware of the time it takes to complete a task. For instance, when you go on vacation and take an early flight, you are tired and tend to rush to and through the airport. After you rush through security and get on the plane, you may take a nap or have an adult beverage. You arrive to your destination and get cozy into your room. Instead of enjoying the view and some local fun you go take a nap. So you woke up at 3:00 am to catch a 5:50 am flight to sleep in a lovely hotel room. It’s time to make an adjustment.  If you are not a morning person you are more likely to run behind. Don’t do it to yourself. Stop booking early flights if you are not an early morning flight person!

Arriving a few hours later to your destination will have you relaxed and ready to enjoy your vacation.
Are you late to events or work often? I used to set my clock a half of an hour early to leave out on time for work. I did not fool myself, and doing so did not make me a half of an hour early. The truth is I dreaded going to work, so it was hard for me to move at the right pace. This place was a part of the foundation that helped to secure my livelihood, so until I found another avenue of employment I had to adjust and reinvent how I used my time. Find something you like to do, and do it a few hours before your shift. I love online shopping and writing, so I would conduct this activity to produce positive vibes before I left for work. Actively engaging in positive activities before work relaxed me, and made me more focused and aware of the time.
Time is something you can never give back, so you must use it wisely. Be prepared for events that are previously
planned by envisioning what you will wear, your drive with and without traffic, and what time you would like to arrive. Be aware of what time an event starts so you can leave in a comfortable amount of time. If you are someone who people look forward to seeing at an event, then don’t disappoint! Down time is another reason why people don’t arrive on time. Instead of arriving late to avoid downtime, arrive on time and bring a quick task you can complete. I often bring my daily planner and check it. A lot of people use their cell phones to past time. Whatever your task or destination is, being late should not be a part of your legacy. If you must be late be graceful, smile, and make no excuses.

Stay Cool

2016 Favorites: Just A Few

Ten 2016 Must Haves

As the "New Year" approached we began to reflect on what we accomplished in 2015, only to propel ourselves into 2016 as warriors. We vowed to make more money, travel more, find another job, finish our Master's degree or just for once complete a workout program. Some of us vowed to do nothing but live by the day, (scary, but true). Rather you are a warrior or just living life withou
t any true timelines or goals we have come up with a list of ten things you must have in 2016.

1. A book you can read cover to cover. Some of us have been entrenched into television as if it is apart of our family. Reality tv has been immersed so much into our culture, the English language has been disassembled by some Americans. A great book can take your mind off some of the stress and anxiety that you face on a day to day basis. The blue lights from your computers and cellphone has ruined your eyes for the day, so not only would a book make you wiser it will also help you sleep better.

Vacation budgeting can be
a good opportunity
to reinforce the benefits of
planning and saving,
which can also be applied
to larger goals.
2. A vacation account to help you save for your vacation. I just recently started a vacation account with my credit union and bank. Yes I have two so I can utilize the saving method due to my relentless shopping habit that sometimes overrides my ability to save. It was easy I went to the bank started the account with just $100.00 and I get $120.00 deposited each check. I have two pay out dates, May and November. Formerly I was apart of a club in which I gave $120.00 a pay period and retrieved it back on a certain date. This allowed me to accumulate $3,000 and use it for vacations or anything that I chose. Now some people automatically state that they don't have $120.00 to save, well $20.00 a check will provide you with $500.00 savings for the year.

3. A great handbag. I can remember when I first started carrying handbags, I was in my late 20s and did not find them essential. As I have progressed in my purchases I realize how great they are and what impact a handbag can have on your day. So what's in your handbag? You must have a pen, some paper, wipes, band aide, nail file, lip gloss, a mirror, and some mints right? Yes you can carry all that in a $20.00 bag, but a great handbag of great quality gives you a different type of feeling. Carrying a great handbag reminds you of what you are setting to accomplish for the day. When looking at your handbag and carrying it in you perfect stride remember in all your imperfectness that this bag has the contents to always keep you together.

4. A Personal Legend. I was reading one of the greatest books I ever read, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. In the book it states that a Personal Legend is what you have always wanted to accomplish. As a youth you dream and everything is possible and you are not afraid  to yearn and seek out your will. Let your fears go again and realize your personal legend.

5. Exercising your body is always important don't minimize it. I can come up with a million excuses not to work out, however there is no excuse not to be run for my health. Some people find it hard to workout, however if you can chat on the phone, spend time on social media or go shopping you can workout. I have managed to stick to Zumba for over a year, As I progressed I realized I was just masking some of my fears by concentrating on things that does not matter. If Zumba is not for you try rollerblading, running, long walks, Martial Arts, swimming, yoga, Pilates, or grab a Groupon and try something new.

6. A Manageable Hairstyle will save your day. The most complicated aspect of your day should not be grooming. I am not saying that hair is not complicated, I do understand that bad hair days exist. A high ponytail can easily help remedy your problem, you can also place your hair in a bun to sharpen up the look. If your hair is short then you can twist your hair and pin it in place.

7. Life is short, so we heard. So to remind ourselves of that time is precious a great time piece is a great asset to have. So many people have opted out of wearing a watch and relying on cellphones that people are becoming more and more tardy. A great watch does not need to be charged each day, it can be on during an interview and is welcome in just about every place except the pool or a shower. Unless of course you have a waterproof watch. Some great watch brands are Michele, Michael Kors, Chanel, Fifth Watches, Gucci, Kate Spade, and Movado.

8. A day to night outfit. Sometimes we don't have time to go from work to play, a great way to do so is to add a great jumpsuit to your wardrobe. A jumpsuit is great for any size woman and can be worn with a blazer to work and jazzed up with accessories and jewelry after work.

9. A spa day can invigorate your day. Have you visited a spa lately? A spa day is a great way for you to let all your tension and woes go. I am not talking about visiting a nail salon for a manicure and pedicure, I am talking about a total spa. A massage, a facial, and all that a full spa has to offer.Your day will not be the same once you visit a spa. If it's not in your budget visit a school where massage therapist are learning, trust me you won't be disappointed.

10. A personal soundtrack to your life. The radio comes on and the artist seems to transform your current situation into a melodic tune. This song creates the perfect emotion for you to have perspective on your life right? We all need music in our lives, it can be a day changer. Create yourself some mood music so that when you need that quick pick me up you can hit play and change your mood.

I hope you enjoyed our 2016 Ten Must Haves, all of them can be used by any lady anywhere. I hope you will use each and every one of them. Have a wonderful 2016!

XOXO

Nikki

Love Via Social Media : An Instagram Love Story

Love... Everyone seems to be searching for that "one" person who will offer them the sanctuary of true love. There are hundreds of mobile apps and websites that promise to help you find that special someone. So is it wrong to look for love through social media sites such as Instagram and Facebook? In my opinion...NO and let me tell you why.

I met my husband at an jewelry line launch party in Detroit through a friend. We didn't really talk to each other, it was literally just a Hi and Bye situation.  He complimented me on my decor and jewelry designs and literally that was the end of our conversation. About a month later, I was on Instagram and I saw this cute guy comment on my friend's Instagram picture... I looked through his pictures on Instagram and really liked what I saw (pictures of him working out and a few pictures of him with his little brothers) so I followed him. I started liking and commenting on his pictures ( and vice versa) and after a while I sent him a DM (direct message) asking him where was he from, since he seemed to travel frequently. He responded back to me in a few days and then the conversation kept growing. Ultimately, he asked for my number and then we would talk, text and Skype. It wasn't until we started talking via Skype when I realized we had met. That helped me put my guard down a lot and intrigued me more.  Our conversations went on for hours about life, people and just everything. He was amazingly sweet even from a distance. Eventually he flew up to Detriot to come visit me and take me out on a date and from there history was made.  To this day, I am still grateful I went outside my norm and decided to contact him on Instagram. Who knows if we would be married today if I didn't.

While I don't believe social media is the only source to find love, I do believe it can tell you a lot about a person.  Social media can also bring people together who otherwise might not have met. And it definitely can reintroduce you to someone you may have not had the opportunity to meet again. So with that being said, it is ok to find love via Instagram, Facebook and etc. Who knows? You may just find your soulmate like I did.

Sincerely from the Heart,

Paper Doll xoxo

Financing Weave & Hair Extensions: The Dirty Truth

Hey Dolls,

I love weave! I especially love adding in new hair extensions with each new hair style. But let's be honest... It can get really expensive to continuously buy weave and most of the so-called "virgin and unprocessed" hair is really just good fibers or processed hair. So what can you do if you want new weave, but the budget is tight? Well, I personally suggest saving up and investing in better hair and better hair care products to prolong the life of your hair extensions. But a new trend has hit the market for weave buying. Loans for Weave

Weave Loan Store In Detroit, MI
Virgin Hair sellers across the U.S. are now offering financing for hair extensions... But does it really benefit the consumer? The answer is not a simple yes or no, it depends on a few different factors. For one, is the hair quality good and will the hair last? I would think there is nothing worse than paying monthly for weave you can no longer use or was only able to install once. Second thing to consider is the financing costs. If the interest is high, do not apply. You could end up paying double the price for the weave ... That's another bundle or 2 - so don't finance,  if there is not an option to payoff the loan or credit early without prepayment fees or without interest.

BTW I have heard  that the loan provider AFFIX charges a very high interest rate per month.

Looking for good virgin hair? visit www.ForeignVirginHair.com for the hottest curls and lace front wigs.

Hope this blog helps :)

Love,

Paper Doll

Can You Wait To Have A Baby?

Can You Wait To Have A Baby?

When I was younger I thought I would have five children, a colonial style home and a husband named Michael for some reason.  So what happen?  Well I suppose either the condoms worked or their soldier of love did not deliver. Was that too much too soon? My apologies. Childless in your thirties leads to a lot of assumptions that people make about you. Some people think that you may not be able to conceive, you’re so career driven that your sex life is nil, or you just don’t like children. No one’s first thought is that it just has not happened yet. I’m a little guilty too with my perceptions. When I meet a woman in her thirties without children  I make assumptions as well, I always think that they were not able to conceive. For many of us, it just has not happened yet, and some of the times it is for good reason. Reflecting on past relationships, could you imagine having children with some of your ex-boyfriends?
The more articles you read, talk to friends and family or your gynecologist, the more you may become discouraged about having your first child in your thirties. We all know that there are some Hollywood stars handling pregnancy in their 30s and 40s, as great as any 25 year old, but that may not be your reality. So what should you let influence you, Hollywood, your bank account, statistics, your marital status? All of the above would be the easiest answer, but most women are influenced by statistics that state that your fertility rate starts to decline at age 27. Almost anywhere on the internet you can read “a woman’s chance of pregnancy is approximately 20 percent each month at age 30, dwindling to 5 percent by age 40.” Although those percentages may be real in some instances it is unfair to place the stress and anxiety on yourself because you are older than 27 years of age and has yet to conceive a child. I’d say getting pregnant is all up to your body, and even with proper nutrition, exercising, a man with some great swimmers and youth on your side you may have had a difficult time.

The statistics get worst when reading articles about attempting to get pregnant between the ages of 35 and 39 where you have about 33 percent chance of not getting pregnant within a year of trying. Statistics suck and can leave some women discouraged, depressed, and even end some relationships. The most encouraging moments in life can be when you see someone accomplish something they tried so hard for. What you will rarely read on the internet is about current well-designed studies where women are successfully having babies. A lot of research that we are basing our life choices on is primitive.

There is an article published in Obstetrics & Gynecology in 2004 and headed by David Dunson that examined the chances for pregnancy in women 35 to 39 years of age. The results were amazing, it found that with sex at least twice a week, 82 percent of 35-to-39-year-old women conceive within a year, compared with 86 percent of 27-to-34-year-olds. Another study released this March in Fertility and Sterility and led by Kenneth Rothman of Boston University, followed 2,820 Danish women as they tried to get pregnant. Among women having sex during their fertile times, 78 percent of 35-to-40-year-olds got pregnant within a year.

Overall there may be many factors in you becoming pregnant, however don’t let age discourage you. One of my favorite quotes is from the book The Alchemist by Paul Coelho it states “ And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” I believe that with all of me, and as I approach another birthday I won’t worry or fret rather I am getting to old to have children. Don’t worry about your age as much as society does, if it is possible for you to have a child it will happen. So how long can you wait to have a baby? As long as it takes.

XOXO

Nikki E.

REVIVE YOUR D/\Y BEFORE NOON

Revive Your Day Before Noon

Do you find yourself rushing to get things done and not having the energy nor time to finish certain tasks regular or otherwise?  Here is a list of things you can do before 10:00 am to calm a potentially overwhelming day?

1.Meditate- In order to take advantage of the benefits of meditation you do not have to go into a transit state of iambic humming.  But you can begin your day with a sense of calm by taking 10 to 15 minutes to sit quietly.  This will set the tone for your day increasing for you chances to increase your focus, zero in on a positive energy source and build optimism.  Next you can:

2. Set your daily intention- Focus intently on three goals you want to accomplish.  Make these goals a priority by list of importance.  As you accomplish these tasks you will feel more productive at each completion.  Remember to simplify these goals.  Don't hamper the good tone you have set for the day by overwhelming yourself with unrealistic goals.  Keep it simple.  For instance.  You may say, "no matter what today brings I will have an optimistic attitude," be cheerful throughout the day, and complete tasks one at a time.

3. Use a Schedule- After setting your daily intentions take time to make for yourself a schedule.  This way you have allotted ample time for yourself to complete tasks..  Sometimes emergencies arise.  A well organized schedule will allow you to make decisions in an organized way and handle whatever is needed at short notice.

4. Stretch-  It is not an easy task to incorporate exercise into every morning.  But with good planning and schedule ten minutes of stretching can do much to loosen your body of tension and increase circulation, flexibility and reduce stress.

5. Have a light Breakfast- A hardy breakfast will only make you feel sluggish, imagine starting your day with
a heavy stomach.  Not a good idea.  A bran muffin or cereal with fruit could start your day light while providing nutrients needed and carbohydrates that can carry you as an energy source until lunch.  These are just five thing to help with a positive confident mindset that will help you through any day or tough task.

Be Well.

XOXO

Nikki

Holding Out Sex, Solution or Problem?

Women all over the globe use the tactic of withholding sex in anger, retaliation, and persuasion of some sort.  One time or another ladies you may have done the same thing.  Let's analyze why this is not such a good idea.  What's most obvious is that some men have the mentality of what they cannot get from home or from you as their woman, they can get elsewhere.  So with that in mind, a woman holding back her "good's" in retaliation may run the risk of her man cheating on her with a woman a bit more in a giving mood.  What makes a man less inclined to cheat?  Could you be stressing him out?
Ladies, sex produces chemicals in our bodies that relax us and relieve stress.  If you withhold sex you can promote a sense of uneasiness with your man.  You could give the impression that you are not pleased with you man's performance as well.  If this is not the case you could be promoting self doubt in your man's ability to satisfy you.  Worse yet you can make him think you are cheating..  The porn industry is a billion dollar booming business.  How would you like for your man to defer 3 or 4 hundred dollars of his monthly income that he'd normally spend on you to some cyber sex lol? What about the strip club scene, is that where you picture his money should go? Does holding out still sound appealing?
Sex creates a bond that is intimate.  When withheld what are you doing to that bond?  Creating space within that union.  Consider this:  Maybe your boyfriend or husband forgets to do something important to you.  Is withholding sex from him going to solve the problem?  No! It only adds one.  Though you may not be in the mood after suffering from disappointment,no matter how minor or major of importance the issue are, rather than withholding sex as a tool of retaliation, talking about what is on your mind instead of masking it creates intimacy and a closeness that encourages a working relationship.  Whereas, using sex as a tool in such a manner incites division.  Just think, your husband forgets to take out the garbage, when you come home from work it's stinking up the house. What's your next thought? You are upset right? Although this upsets you to no end, you take the trash  out and freshen up the house and, seemingly there is no problem when your husband gets home. At least until he tries to have some intimate time.  This lasts for weeks.  Instead of expressing yourself to your husband about how you felt and how this affects you, you hold out the loving.  Tension is building in the both of you.  Thoughts of the unknown breeds suspicion and tension mounts.  Your husband is unable to perform well at his workplace and you remain irritated. Is it really worth all the drama you can potentially cause?
Consider a more healthier approach to the situation.  Communication, clear cut and dry.  Such communication in a relationship promotes understanding.  This way your man has a clear understanding of what's going on with you and what your needs and wants may be.  In conclusion ladies, holding out is not a good idea.  It doesn't serve to solve problems or issues, it only causes them.  Furthermore what are you really trying to gain, respect or control?  Your man is not a child that you should feel the need to put on a  punishment.  He is your partner and communicating with him as such is sure to get you much further that holding out in the bedroom.

Afford Your Wants and Beg Your Needs?

Hi Dolls,

About five years ago a co-worker introduced me to these sites called Groupon, Living Social, and Rue La La. I absolutely love online shopping and deals, so it would have seemed that I would have jumped in full force, I did not. I am familiar with sites like Amazon and 6pm.com, they offer me exactly what I need from the comfort of my home. Adding new sites was a little like changing traveling plans in the middle of a trip.
Rue La La is a site where members are offered luxury and designer goods at a lower price. They offer such goods as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Prada. All of the items are new, but here is the catch, they only have a limited amount. So its kind of an exclusive sale, however if you have expensive taste and you want to buy those things on sale you want to be a part of this site.
Living Social is a site that offers deals on the best thing in your local city, I have not had much interaction on this site, the site offers great getaways from Nile to Egypt to Puerta Plata, Dominican Republic and Jamaica for under a $1,000 each.
My favorite of all these sites has become Groupon, if you are not using Groupon you are potentially spending hundreds to thousands of dollars on things that everyone else is getting a discount on. Now who does not like the words “sale” or “discount?” Well maybe there are some people who do not ever buy things on discount, not me!
I have been using this site more and more since my vacation to Las Vegas, Nevada. On vacation my travel party was able to take advantage and experience some amazing places and events by just accessing this site. I recently have purchased tickets to see Nicki Minaj for $25.00, 30 sessions for kickboxing for only $29.00, lunch at Addison Eatery ($20.00 value for only $11.00). There is also deals for massages, Zumba, Destinations, Horseback Riding, Beauty Services, Car Detailing and even catering services.
If you are on a budget, in need of an adventure or upgrading your wardrobe Rue La La, Living Social, and Groupon are great apps to have on your phone. Daily deals are sent to your email for an even more convenient way to be notified. So what are you waiting on sign-up to start saving.

Wear White When You Want To

Why You Should Wear White When You Want To

I woke up one morning and looked in my closet and it was filled with white and black garments. I don't know what prompted me to do this, there was this one year I decided to purchase nothing but clothing either black, white, or with the combination of both. It became my thing every time I went out I wanted to be seen in something black or white. Of course I did not wear these items to work as my job sometimes leads me to some unfavorable places. One day I decided to wear a pair of white pants and a black shirt, and people were so taken back by this. Oh the stares and yes I have a mirror, so I know I look great in them.
For me wearing white whenever is normal, in January I wore a sheer black shirt and some white harem pants to an upscale restaurant and was complimented on my ensemble. At work though it was the opposite, I heard a few questions which are really just sounded like an opinion. "Why are you wearing white pants after Labor Day?" they asked. Confused by the question I offered no answer. So I decided to Google this fashion faux pas, and I found nothing of sound information as to why this was so important.
History states that the summer is the hot months (of course I knew that) and that white is generally worn during those months to thwart off the heat. So wearing white was a seasonal thing, I get that. White also signified classes of people, the working class wore dark colors as well as people who lived in the city. It was hard to keep if clean in city environments and of course people did not dare wear white attire to a blue collar job.
Designers and stores are selling white clothing after Labor Day not for you to save it to wear May through September, but at your leisure to fashionably sport your clothing. Look at Olivia Pope, her white coat made history, it's not stark white, but you get the point.
What I do not get is that people who want to be free to do whatever they want, would like for others to be stuck into a list of what to dos and what not to do. There are no rules when it come to when I wear a color for me. White is generally a color that you can see through, and in the fall and winter rain or snow can make it difficult to wear. When the opportunity presents itself forget about what month it is and wear what you like. I know for me I will continue to wear white after Labor Day. Break the rules, it's called "winter white" for a reason.

What Not To Wear

Many woman dress for convenience.  Having a busy schedule or even children may dictate the way you dress.  The way you've dressed in the past before the children and your now busy careers sometimes may not resemble the woman you are today.  Think of the time you have rushed to the store thinking, " I'll only be a moment".  What's wrong with this, is that everyone sees you and with today's social media you could easily become the joke on Facebook and Instagram. I know your mother have informed you that when you go out in public, you must have on matching underwear. That ladies was for a reason, not so Victoria Secret can make more money, but the impression it gives. Your underwear holds your valuables so to speak, and you cloth your valuables so whomever sees them has a good impression of you.
It is unreasonable to think that we can always be runway ready.  However, with a few changes and consideration you can certainly look great.  Here are some things that women should avoid being seen in public in.

A superb option to the bonnet.
Hair Bonnets- First of all wearing sleepwear in public is not appealing, the perception from men and women is that you are not clean and have not bathed.  If it is a must that you go in public in a rush a baseball cap or a clean hair wrap, will give you a better look.  It can even be fashion friendly with your hair brushed down.

Robes- Again bath or bed attire has no place in public.  A nice windbreaker or light leather would be more suitable.

Pajamas-Pajamas are so comfortable, I have seen so many people at the grocery store shopping in their PJs. Ladies purchase a nice legging or Yoga pant to slip into when conducting short errands, after all you never know who you will run into.

Last Nights Make-Up- This is a sure sigh that you have not taken the time to shower.  Please wash your face as it is one of the first things you should do when you wake if you do not get in the shower.

No Bra-Ladies if you are a size C and larger your breast are very noticeable, and when you do not wear a bra everyone notices. Although it is uncomfortable sometimes to wear a bra, bras can delay sagging and enhance your bust area.

As humans we process information first with our eyes.  As we gather information from what we see we are able to draw conclusions.  If I see a woman wearing pajamas or clothing that she has slept in or even make-up from the previous day, my first thought is that she is not clean.  Even if a woman is rushing if you don't take time to make yourself presentable it shows that you don't care about your appearance that's wretched.

So dolls, in conclusion, you can avoid becoming the laughing stock of social media circles by putting a little thought to what you choose to wear outside the house even if your rushing.  If you can careless what a person might think, consider the impression you are making on the people in your life.

Mixed Signals: Stop Getting Trapped In The Friend Zone

Hello Dolls,

Today we're going to talk about misinterpretations.  Have you ever thought a guy was really into you?  He did all the right things, said all the right words.  Everything about his actions were perfect.  You went out, to dinner dates, movies and had other activities together formally and informally.  So you probably thought to yourself, everything he did told you that he wanted more than just a friendship. Suddenly, your decision to make your move to take things deeper by expressing your feelings is met by disaster.  Not only are your feelings not returned, but you've possibly ruined a good friendship.  Does this sound familiar to you?  How can you prevent such an embarrassing moment?
To be honest ladies some guys just give mixed signals.  Seemingly they play upon the edges of friendship tipping upon the boundaries of something more whether this is initial or not.  How can we read the signs of such mixed signals?  Is there a way that we could accurately interpret them?

Really? He is not interested in a relationship.
 Don't read more into it.
 Exit Now!
This subject is very vast in that some guys actually play upon such boundaries by flirting and so forth in order to see actually how far they can get with you without an actual commitment.  Others may do so in an attempt to respectfully let you know that they are into you without putting themselves out there in case their feelings are not returned.  Then there are those men who really may just be being nice, who maybe outgoing and even free with their feelings with only the thought of doing so much as being a platonic friend, whether it's to boost you up because of some recent traumatic event like a recent break up or for no reason at all other than to be nice.
In the eyes of some, even many all of these perceptions maybe very difficult to interpret.  But with some key information you maybe able to identify what type of man your dealing with which would help you to determine the signals projected properly.  Is your friend guarded or more outgoing?  Is his personality inverted or external?  While there are different ways to determine this.  The truth is, the only way to find out is to ask plainly. Do you consider that embarrassing, or are you too shy?  Consider the old statement" a closed mouth does not  get fed."  If you'd like to ask a platonic friend a question without going too far, simply be frank.  If he asks you out for an informal dinner, movie or any informal setting that you begin to wonder about.  Simply ask what is his intent?
The question can easily begin a deeper understand of his and your intentions.  Or is it you enjoy the cat and mouse game as well?  One key thing to remember men are not the only ones that give mixed signals, even for all the above mentioned purposes.
So in conclusion Dolls if you really are not into beating around the bush and would like to avoid what misinterpreting mixed signals can bring.  Be frank, and ask the intention of whom your dealing with.  Otherwise not only could you experience an embarrassing moment at the least.  But you could be giving the same mixed signals yourself.  Until next time ladies be safe!

How to Remain Fly in the Skies (Or on the ground) during this Holiday Season

Hello Dolls,

During this holiday season, most of us will be traveling to our family and friends (or to avoid them lol). And while taking a trip is always exciting (or should be), it can become quite stressful , especially if you forget to pack things you will need to remain your usual fashionable self. So I decided to share my list of must haves for your carry on bags.

Travel Flat-irons or Curlers (battery operated preferred):  I cannot tell you how many times I have gone international and forgot converters are needed for plugs and outlets. So to avoid this drama (and a vacation filled with bad hair days) invest in some quality battery operated flat-irons or curlers, they especially come in handy for road trips. It will certainly make the vacay much more enjoyable if your hair stays fly!

Hair Mousse or a light oil:  Weather definitely affects our hair in several ways,  and during the winter months, it can be super harsh on our hair.  I recommend a nice light mousse or light (non-greasy)oil or serum that will keep your hair looking healthy without weighing it down.

Tide to Go Pen: I cannot begin to tell you how this little pen has worked its way into my heart (and my purse of course).  Dramatic? Trust me I am not trying to be.  Being a naturally clumsy person, when I eat I tend to make a mess at times; and well when you are on the go sometimes, you cannot just change your clothes, so what can you do? Grab your tide to go pen, head to the nearest bathroom and start to scrub that pesky stain out!

Sunglasses -Shades:   There is nothing like a cute pair of shades to compliment any outfit. And while traveling sunglasses, can be the perfect accessory when feeling to lazy to maybe put on lashes or other makeup.  So make sure you pack a pair or 2 of shades to block the sun and your haters.

Well, that is the end of my little list of things to pack to remain fly while traveling.  Hopefully, this will help you during this busy holiday season. Have a suggestion for my list?! Please comment :) We love them!

Love Always XOXO,

Paper Doll

Beauty Secrets and Bananas

Hi Dolls,

We spend time and money to investigate the products that are suppose to keep our skin healthy and beautiful. We are suppose to drink water, eat the right amount of protein, and eat our fruits and vegetables. But here's something that will make you go BANANA'S literally.
Bananas' are a healthy food source.  They are abundant in vitamin and minerals including potassium, iron, and zinc.   What was very surprising to me is that they are also  packed with Amino Acids and antioxidants that supply nutrients good for your skin and hair. So what does all this mean? Well vitamins are away for the body to get essential organic compounds for normal growth and nutrition. Amino Acids is a class of organic compounds to help with your body metabolism.A banana has terrific vitamins and nutrients that can not only help your skin look great, it has so many uses including for your hair.
Here are some homemade beauty tips that will help to beautify you skin and hair while putting these extra ripe bananas' to use.
1.  Dry Skin- Turn an extra ripe banana into a moisturizer.  Smash the fruit into a bowl and apply to your face.  Leaving for 15 to 20 minutes then wash off of your face with warm water.  Close your pores with cold water and your dry skin will be smooth to the touch.

2.  Dry Hair and Scalp- Try this mixture: Place two over ripe bananas, one avocado, and yogurt into a blender.  After applying this mixture to your scalp let sit for 20 minutes and then rinse with warm water.

3.  Wrinkles- Using the above combination apply cream to face as a facial mask.  The properties in this combination will reduce the appearance of lines and prevent new aging spots.

4. Shaving-Some people are allergic to shaving cream, an excellent alternative is using the inside of the banana as shaving cream. This will allow you to have a smooth shave and your legs will also smell great!

5. Teeth-We all love our teeth to look great, if you want to naturally whiten your teeth, you may use the inside of a banana peel to do so. Rub your teeth with the inside of a banana peel for about two minutes a night and rinse with salt water. The results are going to be amazing and you will never feel the same about a banana again.

These are just some of the tips that I have tried.  But consider even these for the use of the banana peel:
It is said that the peel of a banana has enzymes, anti-fungal and antibiotic properties.  It can be used to treat mosquito bites, small scratches and poison ivy rash.  I was very surprised to come across this information about the uses of a banana and it's peel.  I'll never throw away another banana again!  Please try these helpful tips to beautify your hair, skin, and teeth.  But for now be well and safe.

XOXO
